Workshops for Students

Aditi Sharma and Kunal Raghav of Summer Fields School, Gurugram, accompanied by Ms Betsy Shaji, attended the Social Science Symposium organised by Vasant Valley School on April 22, 2022. The theme of the symposium was ‘India at 75: Milestones and Challenges’, wherein eminent and renowned speakers Dr. Rukmini Banerji (CEO, Pratham Education foundation), Dr. Randeep Guleria (leading pulmonologist and Director of AIIMS) and Mr. Bezwada Wilson (Human Right Activists and Campaign leader for eradication of manual scavenging) presented their views on different aspects of the theme. 

Under the mission of ‘Digital India’ and “Skill Development” by our Hon’ble Prime AVGC Industry is most popular industry in India.  In view to that Summer Fields arranges a session for Classes XI and XII, to explore current trends in AVGC (ANIMATION, VFX, GAMING AND COMIC) industry, wide array of job opportunities available for the students and future scope of the industry. The faculty and experts from MAAC given an informative and interactive session.  

Career Counselling session on ‘Emerging Career’ was organised for the students of Class XII. The resource person Mr. Binit Binod, is an experienced career coach associated with the field of education for more than 20 years. The session introduced the students to new career options that are available and emerging in today’s scenario. He also motivated students to explore more before taking a final decision and look for universities and colleges with campus selection options. Many careers were redefined and projected with new options. 

It was an eye-opening session for the students where they got more clarity about different career options available. 

Summer Fields School, Gurugram, always maintains that welfare of students is of uppermost priority. In sync with that, a workshop was organized for the students of class XII, on April 13, 2022, on the topic ‘Mental Health Issues’. Ms Aakritee Kapoor, an illustrious alumni of the school and presently an A-grader Masters in Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, was the resource person. Ms Aakritee Kapoor is presently working as a Programme Head with ‘Sambandh Health Foundation’. The speaker motivated the students with her valuable knowledge about how to deal with psychological problems and stay mentally and physically healthy. Principal, Ms Urmimala Sudhakar, encouraged all students to be open about mental health issues and expressed her gratitude to Ms Kapoor for initiating a knowledgeable session.  

At Summer Fields we believe in development of 21st century skills. To make our next generation future–ready, we inculcate problem solving skills and critical thinking abilities. In view of the above, we organised a training session on ‘Game based Programming with Advanced Tool of Minecraft’ for the students of Computer Club, on October 21, 2022. Students learned about the advanced tools of Minecraft and created Minecraft Worlds on the theme ‘Temples and Heritage of India’.
